It has been a busy week driving to and from Greeley, Colorado. First, on Monday, I dropped off my two pieces for the 2019/53rd National Greeley Art Exhibit and Sale. After dropping off my art, I had a tasty lunch at the Rio Grande restaurant in downtown Greeley.
Then, on Thursday, I returned for the opening reception. Much to my surprise, my piece Grizzly Falls, Morning received second place in the photography category. The artwork in the show from oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, drawing and photography was all first rate, as befits a national juried show. I am honored to be included in this art and flabbergasted with my second place showing in photography.
From left to right, top to bottom, the images are Allison Dunning and Heather Autry, the Chair and Vice-President, respectively of the NGAE Board. They ran a smooth exhibit and fun show. Second is me next to my winning submission (photo taken by Phyllis DeNovellis) as was the third photo of me next to my other submission. On the bottom row are close ups of my two submissions. I also received a cash prize of $150 for second place.
Finally, Sunday John and I drove to Greeley to pick up the artwork, having lunch at the Rio Grande restaurant again.
